Kansai Gaidai University is an international school in Osaka, Japan. Students from all across the world study at KGU, each with a unique cultural and academic background.

My goal for the redesign of the Asian Studies Program site was to seamlessly integrate English and Japanese to accommodate the highest number of site visitors while also highlighting the benefits of coming to Japan and studying at KGU.
Creating a style guide for the site was a lengthy process. Blue is a very popular color in Japan, and almost every Japanese institution features a shade of blue in its color palette. Though this may entice local citizens, international students may not require the same standards. The colors I've chosen reflect those more commonly associated with Japan by foreigners.

The typefaces were chosen to be easily readable by native and secondary English (or Japanese) speakers. A Japanese typeface was paired to seamlessly blend with (but not distract from) its English counterpart.
